Naomi Low-Beer MBBS MRCOG MD MEd SFHEA

Naomi is a leader in medical education, with extensive experience of developing and implementing programmes in the UK and internationally, to create the doctors of tomorrow.

Having trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in West London, with a research doctorate (MD) and Masters in Education (MEd) from Imperial College London, Naomi became a member of the Royal College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (MRCOG) and established her clinical practice as a Consultant Gynaecologist at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Trust. Naomi combined her clinical interest in HIV, female genital mutilation and innovative models of service delivery with medical education at undergraduate medical education at Imperial.

Naomi played a key role in the establishment of the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) in Singapore, a partnership between Imperial College London and Nanyang Technological University. LKCMedicine opened in 2013, and as Vice-Dean for Education, Naomi led the development and implementation of the new MBBS programme, overseeing the graduation of three student cohorts. LKCMedicine was recognised for its innovative pedagogical approaches and was a recipient of the 2021 ASPIRE Award for excellence in curriculum development, awarded by the International Association for Health Professions Education. When LKCMedicine entered the QS International University rankings in 2021, it was the highest ranked of all new medical schools globally.

Following seven years as Professor and Vice-Dean for Education in Singapore, Naomi returned to the UK in 2020 as Founding Dean of Brunel Medical School, leading the development of its new medical programme and successful progression through the General Medical Council’s quality assurance process. Naomi established a team of academics, clinicians and professional services staff, committed to developing a high-quality programme and providing an inclusive, supportive environment for international and UK students. Under Naomi’s leadership, a new curriculum was developed from scratch and clinical partnerships were established with hospitals, general practices and third sector organisations. A range of new educational approaches were introduced, including team-based learning, academic coaching and programmatic assessment. These have led to publications in leading medical education journals, establishing Naomi as one of the UK’s leaders in medical education.

Having founded Brunel Medical School and led the programme from inception through to its mid-operational phase, Naomi left Brunel in 2025 and co-founded MedEd Solutions.

Throughout her medical education career, Naomi’s work has been characterised by a passion for delivering impact for students, the wider healthcare community and patients. She has extensive experience of incorporating evidence-based educational approaches, combining traditional methods with innovation. Naomi’s approach is inclusive, and she enjoys bringing together teams from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
